Making your fabulous fynbos last longer

Fynbos is one of those rare plants that looks absolutely beautiful when freshly picked and just as gorgeous when dried. The first prize, however, is getting the most out of your fresh flower arrangement, because once your bunch dries there’s no turning back!

So here are some tips from us on how to make your proteas and fynbos last longer:

  1. Snip the ends off each stem.
  2. Use a vase with fresh, cold water.
  3. Try and keep the vase in a cool place - not where sun will catch it or in front of a heater.
  4. Rinse out the vase and put in fresh water every 3 - 4 days.
  5. Snip off ends of the stems about once a week.
  6. Enjoy your fabulous fynbos for many more weeks!

After some time, even your best efforts to keep your flora fresh will fail. That’s when you turn them into a perfectly pretty arrangement like this one:

TIP:

Spray paint some dried protea heads, penny gum and fynbos to make a fabulous Christmas wreath.
